How Business Strategy Coaching Can Boost Your Consulting Practice in 2025
It’s a fresh year and I’ll bet you have big goals for your consulting practice in 2025. But what are you doing to achieve those? What are you planning to do differently? If you want to achieve a different outcome, what changes can you implement to get there?
As a business coach, my mission is to support female consultants, thought leaders and speakers to take their practices to new heights. I want to see you achieve your career goals... and then I want to take you even further!
But like anything in life, if you want to reach a particular destination, you need a roadmap to get there. If you dream of achieving certain goals in your practice, you need a quality business strategy.
But this is where many people often fall backwards a bit. They dismiss business strategy as something only big corporations bother with. Or they map out a few rough ideas and call it good enough. Or they may feel afraid to put resources towards a business strategy when they’re in the trenches of the day-to-day.
But having a strong business strategy could be just what you need to elevate your consulting practice – and business strategy consulting could be the key to that.
Business strategy coaching for 2025
If your business strategy isn’t evolving, then you and your practice may get left behind. The last few years we’ve seen new approaches and trends that can take your consulting practice to the next level. Here’s what to focus on in 2025.
Technology and innovation
We all know technology has come leaps and bounds in the past few decades. While of course this has a massive imprint on the course of our daily lives, it also plays a big role in business strategy.
In fact, some of the technology available today has enabled certain businesses to exist. Without it, they would never have been created.
Technology also allows us to improve efficiency and productivity – crucial factors for strategic growth. It also helps businesses to remain scalable. In our Women with Business community and in my own practice I’ve been working closely with new tech and AI-driven software that can help consultants deliver more value to their clients and should be considered in their business strategy.
Some AI tools that I’ve found to be helpful for myself or my clients are:
● ChatGPT
● Copy.ai
● Copyleaks
● Oracle AI
● StealthGPT
● Surfer SEO
● Jasper AI
● Crayo
● Originality AI
● Writer.com
● FullStory
● Zapier
● Chatfuel
● Grammarly
● Albert.ai
● Brand24
From AI to task automation and data analysation, technology plays a vital role in business strategy in 2025.
The modern workplace
Part of any business strategy is how you create value. And to do this you need to look at your working environment.
The work environment has changed a lot in recent years. Technological advancements have given us greater accessibility and flexibility. The pandemic has shifted where and how we work. Your team want freedom and autonomy.
Consider how you can set up your modern workplace to give your team what they need to perform well and deliver value to your customers and clients. What technology and CRMs will help you to do this. Do you need a VA or an EA? How often will you meet with them.
Each of these is a part of your workplace – and need to be part of your business strategy.
New ways of positioning and messaging
How we connect and appeal to potential clients has also changed in recent times. To get your voice heard above the noise in 2025 is no small feat. You need to stand out and position yourself as ‘the expert’ in your field.
Positioning and messaging will help to drive your growth, making it essential to your business strategy. Connecting with new leads and nurturing existing relationships is key.
But of course the way we do this today is very different to a few years ago. You need to find leads via new channels, connect in a way that suits them, and build their trust through transparency and authenticity.
Your business strategy needs to encompass how you will set your brand apart and share your message. Will you drive it through social media, traditional marketing channels, SEO… or all of the above? How will you apportion your resources? This is important for all businesses, large or small.
Update your assets
Most consultants and speakers will require collateral to support their IP. This could be a whitepaper, a program proposal, a landing page to promote your program or even a book.
But what people want today is different to years gone by. So it’s important to keep your assets up to date and in line with what your audience wants. Think about providing digital files and links. Focus on video content and keep the content visually appealing. Most people today are also time-poor, so make sure you get your message across clearly and efficiently.
