Is a consultant an independent contractor?

Most of Jane’s clients run their own consulting practice serving their clients (some as sole traders, others as a company). Your legal consulting business model will vary depending on your individual circumstances. However, in most cases, when your legal structure is set up correctly you will be considered an independent contractor rather than an employee (which is the outcome that is typically wanted).

What does ‘consulting’ mean in business?
